Empowering Electricity Consumers: Awareness Session Held Successfully

Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA), successfully organized a focused and insightful awareness session on Electricity Consumers’ Rights on Thursday, 5th June 2025 at TSSIA House, Wagle Estate, Thane.

Themed “Know Your Rights: Electricity”, the two-hour session brought together industry members, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to explore critical aspects of electricity services — from decoding bills to understanding regulatory frameworks.

The session was enriched by the presence of expert speakers, including Advocate Rajesh Darvesh, who offered valuable legal perspectives on electricity laws and consumer protection. TSSIA Executive Committee Members Mr. A. Y. Akolawala and Mr. Sachin Mhatre shared practical insights and experiences relevant to the MSME sector. Entrepreneur Mr. Raquib Akolawala also addressed the gathering, adding a valuable perspective from the entrepreneurial and consumer viewpoint.

Participants engaged in discussions around billing transparency, grievance redressal mechanisms, the role of electricity regulatory bodies, and actionable tips on energy conservation. The interactive nature of the session encouraged attendees to share their concerns, clarify doubts, and leave with a clearer understanding of their rights and responsibilities as electricity consumers.
