SEMINAR ON BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (BIS) &
BUSINESS GROWTH
On 1st October, 2024, Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA) hosted an insightful seminar and workshop focused on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and strategies for business growth
Held at TSSAI House in Thane, the event brought together industry professionals eager to enhance their understanding of BISA regulations and learn innovative marketing techniques aimed at boosting sales.
The session commenced with opening remarks from Mrs. Sujata Soparkar, President of TSSIA, who emphasized the importance of standards in fostering business excellence and competitiveness in the market. Following her introduction, Mr. C S Shetty, Committee Member of TSSIA, took the stage to introduce the esteemed speakers.
Presentation on BIS
The first part of the seminar featured presentations from two distinguished representative of BIS, Mr. Aman Singh and Mr. Anurag both Scientist – C and Deputy Directors at BIS Mumbai. Their presentations provided a comprehensive Overview of the BIS framework, highlighting the critical role it plays in ensuring product quality and consumer safety. The interactive Q&A session that followed allowed attendees to engage directly with the speakers, clarifying doubts and deepening their understanding of BIS standards.
Presentation on Business Growth Strategies
After a brief networking session, the seminar shifted focus to business growth strategies, with Mr. Moloy Chakravorty, Founder of Beyond Red Ocean Consulting, delivering an inspiring talk on how businesses can increase their sales by 46% within 18months. With over 25 years of experience in leadership roles across multiple continents, Mr. Chakravorty’s insight into effective marketing strategies and the importance of innovative thinking resonated with the audience. His actionable advice on negating competitive markets was particularly well received, providing attendees with Practical tools to drive growth in their own businesses.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mr. Nikhil Sule, another committee Member of TSSIA who expressed gratitude to the speakers for their valuable contributions and to the attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
Overall, the seminar was a resounding success, leaving participants equipped with knowledge and strategies to not only comply with BIS standards but also to enhance their market presence and profitability.
