On April 25, 2024, the Chamber of Small Industry Association (COSIA) and CKP Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) collaborated to host an impactful seminar aimed at enhancing awareness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The seminar, titled "Awareness Session on ONDC, Various Government Schemes for MSMEs & Delayed Payments to MSEs - Role & Help from MSEFC," brought together around 90 MSME participants eager to gain insights into crucial aspects of business development and support.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers, including Mr. Dhiraj Kumar, an official representative of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), and officials from the Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra.

  1. Open Network Digital Commerce (ONDC): Mr. Dhiraj Kumar elucidated the transformative potential of ONDC, an initiative poised to revolutionize e-commerce in India. ONDC operates on an open protocol based on open-source specifications, facilitating scalable and cost-effective e-commerce. This initiative is set to empower startups and bolster the growth of the digital economy.
  2. Government Schemes for MSMEs: Officials from the Directorate of Industries highlighted various schemes offered by both the Government of India and the State Government of Maharashtra to support MSMEs. Participants gained insights into platforms like GeM (Government E Marketplace) and mechanisms under the MSMED Act aimed at ensuring timely payments to MSEs.
  3. Delayed Payments to MSEs and Help from MSEFCs: The seminar addressed the critical issue of delayed payments to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). Attendees learned about the role of Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Councils (MSEFCs) in facilitating the recovery of dues and ensuring fair business practices.
