The city of Thane is expanding at a phenomenal pace and the industrial scenario in the city has also been rapidly changing. Once known as major industrial manufacturing belt, the focus of the city has been now shifting towards service industries.

With changing times, the need of the hour is an updated directory of all Industries and Service Providers in the city – including manufacturers, raw material suppliers, services, retail and consulting businesses. TSSIA can utilize this data and analytics when proposing key policies and productive changes to government bodies.

TSSIA,  a spearheading  organization working for MSME in Thane for the last 30 years, has accepted this challenge to create a comprehensive directory of  all small scale units. There are  around 6000 SSI units in and around Thane. Each unit will be visited  and details about that unit will be filled in a specially designed form.

This daunting task will be driven by a TSSIA committee consisting of  Secretary Mrs Sujata Soparkar, Dr Madhu Gupta, Mr. Bhavesh Maru, Mr Sunil Kulkarni, and Mr. J.V.Kulkarni. This committee will work under guidance of  our beloved President Mr. Appasaheb Khambete.

Entire project will be handled by Mrs Padma Kadu.  She had a team of well trained young Management Students.

In this regard a press conference was arranged on 26th May 2011 which had a large turnout of the prominent media reporters and the TSSIA activities have received a significant coverage in the daily press.

This project was launched on 30th May 2011 – a very special day for all of us here at TSSIA since it is  the 80th  Birthday of  our President Mr. Khambete.
